1/8/2024 0 Comments Goodyear mtr kevlarThe wider grooves of MTR enable it to cope with extreme muddy conditions as they provide several biting edges which effectively grab mud and throws it back to aid the forward movement of the tire. However, the closely packed tread blocks and shallower sipes are less effective in wiping away water, making this tire more slippery and at a greater risk of hydroplaning. KO2 possesses a lower void ratio with a greater contact patch and increased tire grip, which lowers the braking distance and allows this tire to perform greatly on smooth dry roads. However, in wet situations, the widely spaced grooves along with full-depth sipes bring sensational performance as they wipe away water efficiently and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. So, the higher void ratio of this tire affects its performance on dry paved surfaces. MTR offers broader grooves with a lower contact patch and reduced tire grip. Moreover, the tread blocks are interlocked with staggered shoulders. This tire uses Max CoreGuard technology and offers 2 steel belts with a nylon blend. The stone ejectors of this tire are not much efficient however, the 3 ply polyester sidewalls follow a robust tread design. The sipes of this tire are shallower and shoulders are barely opened. KO2 emphasizes an aggressive 5-pitch tread design with a comparatively lower void ratio. Moreover, this tire also features traction ridges and hardworking wraparound tread. ![]() The stone ejectors between the grooves are highly optimized. The rugged sidewalls of this tire are strengthened by Kevlar. ![]() This tire features an open shoulder design with highly efficient sipes over the tread blocks. However, one of the center block columns offers closely packed tread blocks with a lower void ratio. MTR follows an asymmetric 4 pitch tread design with a higher void ratio.
